Community Options Project
What is Community Options?
Community Options Project (COPS) are packages of care individually tailored to meet the needs of each client/carer.
COPS provide a flexible responsive service to encourage and empower the client/carer to maintain control over their own lives.
How does Community Options work?
The Co-ordinator will talk to each client and/or their carer to determine what help or care is needed to allow the client to remain living in their home. Services are monitored and reviewed regularly to ensure the care provided is appropriate.
Who can use Community Options?
Frail older people, people with a disability, and people considering residential care because they cannot cope at home, can access the service to assist them to live in their own home. Their Carers can also use the service.
Services are provided as packages of care and can be made up of a combination of the following services:
Respite - Carer Support, Companionship, Friendly visits.
Home care - Meal preparation, Personal Care, Attending to mail, Maintenance Housekeeping.
Shopping/Transport - Escorts to appointments, Shopping, Banking.
Information - Discussing problems and options, Planning for your future.
Clients are informed of the cost of their care plan and are asked to contribute towards this cost. No one will be denied a service if they are unable to pay fees or are financially disadvantaged.
Gifts of $2.00 or more are tax deductible.

Not always.
Some people need very intensive and/or specialised care. A nursing home or hostel may provide more suitable care for these people.
Other people who only need a little support may already be receiving services which meet all their needs.
Our services are confined to a geographical area (QE2 district - Brisbane South).
