What do volunteers do?
Flex Care's volunteers endeavour to fill the gaps between established services or assist when support from family or friends is unavailable
Volunteers can assist by:
- Sharing companionship, conversation and interests
- Helping with local outings
- Providing transport to Podiatry/Medical appointments
Who are our volunteers?
Local men and women with a willingness to contribute an hour or two, weeking or monthly.
How are the volunteers supported?
- Volunteers participate in an orientation program
- Volunteers receive ongoing support and supervision
- Volunteers receive ongoing education
- Volunteers are part of a team
- Some travel costs can be reimbursed
Flexi Care Inc. provides flexible, responsive, home based services such as meal preparation, personal care, shopping, banking, housekeeping and respite care to frail older persons, carers and people with a disability, thereby assisting people to live independent lives and remain in the community.
Flexi Care Inc. Volunteer Service is funded by HACC (Home and Community Care), and is currently only available to Flexi Care Inc. clients.
